Charlotte works as a psychotherapist, facilitating the Life Unlimited counselling team.

She works with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, family issues, sexual and other abuse, eating disorders and addiction

Charlotte has a special interest in early childhood deficits and abuse (developmental trauma), and how they impact on adult life. Her work is client centred with an integrative gestalt and psychodynamic approach, incorporating a spiritual perspective. She also incorporates psychosomatic integrative psychotherapy. This approach weaves together somatic psychotherapy, developmental needs meeting strategy and lifespan integration.

Charlotte also integrates neurofeedback into her therapy. This approach involves utilising the brain’s capacity for neuroplasticity to train the brain to function in optimal ways. She uses findings from neuroscience which show how trauma in particular interferes with brain development to assist clients to overcome these difficulties.

Charlotte trained in Biblical Counselling with YWAM and in Psychotherapy at AUT. She has also completed the Spiritual Directors Formation Programme with Spiritual Growth Ministries and trained in Neurofeedback with the Neuroththerapy Institue in Melbourne, Australia.

He is passionate about working within different cultures and various backgrounds. He receives regular bi-cultural supervision to ensure his work is bi-culturally sensitive and respectful.

Charles works in a relational way with his clients. He believes that if counselling is to be effective it is essential that clients get a strong sense of the “right fit” with their Therapist. He tailors his style and counselling method to what seems to fit for each individual, this can involve being goal focused or just getting alongside people for support. The approach will be determined following the initial assessment you have with him.
